High precision drop-offs
Lazerway® is the right technology for precision drop-offs. Maytag, Galesburg, Illinois USA, found this out when they automated the transports of paint boxes to their spray-painting lines. The paint box is changed for each product colour.
A paint box weighs up to 10.000 kg, and has an area of approx. 36 m2. The boxes must be correctly positioned for the supply lines - a function which is just perfect for laser navigated AGVs.
Maytag’s AGV concept is based on the fact that the entire transport cycle is automated. The operator can only start and stop the AGV with a ”dead man’s grip”. The lifting bed is 5.5 m long and lifts 15 cm. The AGVs are extremely flexible and can turn on their own axis. Two AGVs serve the box transports.
