With the integration of SynqNet and Ethercat, Danaher Motion has extended the connection compatibility of its SERVOSTAR servo amplifier range. The interfaces are available in the form of a plug and play solution using expansion cards, which are designed for and automatically detected by the optional slots in the SERVOSTAR S300 and S600 lines. By integrating both communication standards Danaher Motion has again set new standards in the flexibility and functions of drive solutions.

The multi-interface slot already enables the connection of SERVOSTAR servo amplifiers via PROFIBUS, Sercos, DeviceNet or Ethernet in the automation environment. Plug-in Diasbus, Firewire, Lightbus and Modbus Plus cards are also supported. A CANopen interface is already permanently installed in the products. For distributed systems, customer-specific solutions such as PLC and motion controller cards can also be used.

With regard to feedback, SERVOSTAR products support numerous versions of solutions from different suppliers – from resolvers through comcoders to Sincos encoders. Finally, a BISS interface has been developed as standard for the SERVOSTAR 300. The fully digital, bi-directional and non-proprietary interface enables high-speed communication with short cycle times. The BISS interface is immune to electromagnetic interference and works well with high-resolution encoders.

By combining the SERVOSTAR amplifier with other components from the comprehensive product range available – such as synchronous servo motors, gearheads, cables and power supply units – Danaher Motion is able to provide a one-stop-shop for complete digital drive systems.
