BEIJING, 21 March 2005 – SynqNet User Group today announced the launch of its SynqNet China website, www.SynqNet.org.cn. This is a major step in raising awareness of the cutting-edge SynqNet technology among Chinese customers. The China website will offer local users access to a global resource in the Chinese language, including a comprehensive archive of information relating to the latest developments in motion control.

SynqNet is a high performance, all digital, synchronous motion control network designed to lower the cost and time-to-market of machine design, manufacture and support. According to ARC Advisory Group, the SynqNet installed base now totals over 85,000 axes installed in machines worldwide and continues to grow at a rapid pace.

"Since the launch of SynqNet in late 2002, we're pleased to see that the adotion rate of this technology has surpassed that of any motion control network on the market," said Phil Strong, President of SynqNet User Group ."As China is playing a more and more important role in the global economy and becoming the manufacturing center of the world, we hope SynqNet.org.cn can provide an effective channel for Chinese customers to better understand and adopt this state-of-art technology."

The design of SynqNet.org.cn is based on fulfilling the needs of both suppliers and OEM customers. The China website contains Chinese language versions of all the information housed within the global site, including:
  • News and events – provides latest news and events update of SynqNet andassociated partners.
  • Overview – an overview of SynqNet technology and its major advantages
  • Products – gives a clear picture of what SynqNet motion control network can provide.
  • Support Net – allows OEM customers to find the right suppliers and integrators they need.
  • Developers Kit – introduces SynqNet Developers Kit in details, which is a major part of SynqNet technology.
  • Tech Library – a comprehensive editorial content including case studies, technical papers and feature articles.
  • Contact/Press – an interactive communication channel of customers and media.

SynqNet was developed in response to customer demand and the lack of any other openly available solution. As a result SynqNet is the only motion control network that offers all of the following:
  • Centralized control architecture for controlling complex machines.
  • High bandwidth for torque updates to 48kHz and support up to 32 coordinated axes.
  • Electrical isolation for immunity to noise and cable shorts.
  • “Self-Healing” Fault tolerant operation with dual data paths for maximum machine availability.
  • True plug-and-play multi-vendor interoperability.
  • Remote diagnostics of motor drive performance
  • Remote drive configuration and setup
  • Remote upgrade of drive firmware features
  • Automatic network configuration and integrity check
  • Cabling over 100m between each node
  • Open, field-proven silicon (IEEE 802.3 - 100baseT physical layer)
  • Cost effective design

SynqNet is supported by leading US and Japanese drive and I/O vendors. Key suppliers include Danaher Motion, Yaskawa Electric, Advanced Motion Controls, Soonhan Engineering, Trust Automation, Glentek, and Tamagawa Seiki. OEM or third party developers using the SynqNet Developers Kit can easily develop customer devices.
